*Important* - IV Solution Shortage

One of our IV solutions suppliers in North Carolina was severely impacted by the recent hurricane.    Hurricane recovery efforts in that part of the country are expected to continue for the coming months.   HCA is diligently working with corporate and division pharmacy and supply chain teams to preserve our on-hand supplies.   

As a result, HCA Healthcare facilities are facing a shortage of IV solutions in bags of 250 mL or greater

Please review the below items and be familiar with your role during this shortage.

Ticket to Test - Methodist Healthcare

This form needs to be completed by an RN before specimen collection and signed by a nurse leader.    Additional signatures will be the RN and the phlebotomist.       

Consult your Director, Manager, or Charge Nurse for questions about when and how to complete this form.    

CLABSI and infections are monitored and reviewed.
