MidAmerica has recently transitioned to the utilization of DeRoyal wrist restraints. There is a HealthStream video titled, "Overview of the DeRoyal wrist restraint-CESL", that can be taken should you require additional information and/or education. This is not required education and supplemental only. Please reach out to your Regional Director of Clinical Operations for questions or concerns.

Nova Statstrip, which is the HCA approved glucometer, has recieved FDA approval for capillary sample testing in the ICU and ED. The change in process will require the sample type, venous or arterial. See attached screen shot for additional information.

PRN Reason vs. Pain Assessment Score. Please review the included education applying to all West Florida facilities. Meditech will provide a rule check or pop up to notify the nurse they are administering PRN pain medication outside of intended parameters.  Please reach out to your Regional Director of Clinical Operations for additional questions.
