The "z" and "w" order source in Meditech should never be used when entering an order. When either one of those sources is used, the order never goes to the physician to be electronically signed. This is particularly important for any Meditech controlled substance activity. Please comment below with questions.
Medical City Alliance in the North Texas Division has shared a Meditech Manual that some of you might find helpful as a resource and reference. Please be mindful that screens and functionality of Meditech can vary by facility and division. Please comment below with questions, thank you for all you do!

One of the many reasons to love Meditech....Health Information Exchange allows you to view patient information outside of your market from all HCA facilities and employed doctors offices. They are currently working on being able to view information from non-HCA. This is very helpful in day to day continuity of patinet care but most recently in the hurricaines when patients are transfered to different facilities.
Each facility choses the path, examples desktop icon, link in magic key menu etc. Please verify with your facility how to access. Included is an informational resource.
