In continuous effort to conserve PPE, HCA no longer requires contact isolation precautions for patient who are colonized with or have history of MRSA or VRE. This directive does NOT affect active MRSA or VRE infections, patient with active drains or open wounds or patient on contact isolation with other MDR organisms.

Extended use of N95 masks, googles, and face shields has been activated enterprise-wide.

The Goal being to keep caregivers safe and preserve the PPE supply.

At the end of each shift, all eyewear, facemasks, and N-95 respirators must be collected for future reprocessing per guidelines.
